PUBLISHING PROJECT

Foxy Flox is a VR multiplayer Physic-based building Game. The project was made during a 4 mounth school Project.

 

During this project I worked as Producer and Game Designer (system). My job was mainly to structure the productions phases as well as to organize the work of my coworkers. And above all to guide them in the developpement of a project we could publish on Steam at the end of our 4 mounth production.

The Inital Goal of the Project was to produce a game for publication on Steam. (Wich we are currently working on).

WHAT I LEARNED

At this time, I had the chance to take on the role of producer on other projects and use my experience to this one.

The project was quite challenging because of the short period of time and the technical difficulties.

The platform and the hardware (VR) as well as the implementation of the multiplayer all in a Physic based game (Unity) slowed us a lot in production.

The design and pre-production phase was really very short due to the constraints of the exercise. This allowed us to confirm the "fun" potential of the prototype, however we missed the evaluation of a large number of technical issues.

​

Therefore, these issues caught up with us during the production phase. When we reached a third of the production phase, we had to redesign and rescope large parts of the game to adapt to our technical issues.

​

It was also at this time that we changed the management method from Agile/Scrum to switch to Gantt / Waterfall. This structure was more suited to our needs for monitoring the progress of feature-by-feature production.
